Not a parent. I took a youth mental health first aid course. Totally recommend. Bc just like you'd take a physical first aid course, it's important to know how to help ppl when the brain is injured.
Wow. I missed a party...! I feel like going back and joining that DMC going on over there.
Dr. Pepper. I don’t like soda too much. I didn’t used to like doctors either. But my husband is in medical school so I am learning to like them 😆. And I’ve had such wonderful doctors so I am starting to change my mind about disliking doctors. These days, I am in awe of doctors.
Anyway, poor singleagain. I’m going to look something up on google for you.
“Dr Pepper is the oldest major soft drink in America, having been created, manufactured, and sold in 1885 by pharmacist Charles Alderton. Charles Alderton worked at a drugstore in Waco, Texas, owned by Wade Morrison.” —GOOGLE
For me, the draw of this game is the novelty of interacting with complete strangers, and sharing a conversation that is at times personal, profound, sober, petty, funny, interesting, informative...
I feel like I've gotten a sense of many posters characters/ interests, and I find that intriguing, too.
Oh, also, it's a fantastic way to decompress and escape reality for a little while.
Thanks singleagain for starting this thread!
Tell me if you are a night owl or an early morning bird.
Tell me if you are a night owl or an early morning bird.
As a teen I was both. Stayed up late and woke up extra early if I needed to. Now (as a mom) I get an extra wind at night and have no prob going to sleep late, but it's sooo hard to get up in the morning!
Awh, thriver, thanks for the Google even though I purposely figured someone could just tell me how they felt about Dr pepper personally.
And chesire I'm so glad people are enjoying this thread.
My body hurts. Bc fibromyalgia. And desk sitting. But. Seeing a chiropractor so that helps. She actually was very glad to hear that I only sleep with one pillow. Though, I have two animal shaped pillows, a body pillow, and a flippy sequin pillow on my bed for funsies. But I use the animal ones sometimes, when I'm on my side and my hip is hurting just so much, I put them under it to help soften. Plus I have my baby Mickey mouse doll that I got fr Disney world when I was 14 and he's been in my bed ever since (except for when I was married then he was in my nightstand.)
Tell me about a favorite doll of yours. OR if you feel like googling, tell me about the origin of the teddy bear.
That sounds so tough singleagain. Refuah shelaima.
Don't need Google for that!
Good old teddy roosevelt spared a bear cubs life on a hunting trip. He was a popular figure, so it was a savvy marketing move by retailers... "teddy " bears sales took off across the nation.
I don't own any dolls- well, other than my pincushion. But I did have a hard time outgrowing them. I loved playing with my dolls, and I vividly remember the anxiety I felt when my friends began moving on to more "big-girl" interests, and I felt pressure to move right up with them. Held on to them for a long time...
Today, I encourage my girls to play, play, play!
Tell me about a game you enjoy to play, or a fun activity
Not thriver, and I can't speak for her.
But I loved your posts. You have a fun sense of humor despite whatever you're dealing with.
Only dealing with myself lol!!! Sometimes those demons are the hardest to deal with though. (I’m currently doing trauma therapy which is hellish) Thanks for your kind words
