HELP?!?!?!?!
how doyou get rid of those creatures? I live in an apt buiding where they exterminate every month but I saw three already in my KITCHEN!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! does any one have more info on them, like how to trap them, get rid of them, what they like or dislike. EEEEWWW!!!
I also noticed other creepy crawly stuff that you usually find outside, inside our apt. we checked all the indowws and they are all closed. any hints?
PLEASE HELP ME!

Ask an exterminator. Sometimes they come in boxes from stores if you get deliveries. You can also spray for bugs by yourself. You've got my sympathies, I get creeped out thinking about the crawly creatures. If all else fails, get a frog!

Thank-Goodness I don't live where there r cockroaches othere stuff yep but not quite as bad.
Vacume regulary will help or just get an exterminator, though when we did it when we were living in N.Y. it did seem to triple the amount and till this day I've never quite got over the truama of having them 4 company.....

would it help if amother would constantly sweep her fllors and wipe down her counters?

Doesn't matter how clean u r. It goes by the area and if that area is old and not maintained well then it b/comes a vicious cycle 4 those living in those areas that do try to maintain their homes. I found apatment buildings were bigger culprits then housing in that area. I guess also since there r holes cracks that r not fixed over so encourages all these unwanted guests who knows

We live in an apt, so I call maintanance to spray every other month or so..... We don't get cockaroaches, just VERY BIG water bugs occasionally in the kitchen.

... In my book they are equally as bad! Out of habit I now just rinse all my pots etc. before using them..... eventhough I've only seen a handfull of these creatures. but one is more than enough for me!

I heard they come up through the holes in sinks etc. So make sure your sink holes are covered so that they cannot make it through the holes, tape up the holes at the side of the sinks, bathtubs etc. Good luck. Oh and get a good exterminator. Here they come with a 1 year guarantee.

we'ere in the same sitch here and I HATE bugs !!!! (and rodents) so I feel for you!

buy cockaroach hotels (don't ask me why they're called that). they are small black boxes with poison inside. the bugs crawl into them, eat the poison and carry them back to the nest. I don't think they are dangerous around kids cuz you can't get to the stuff inside, only the bugs can. you put them around the house where you see the roaches and they kill them for a while (1 downside is that you have too keep replacing them every couple of months or the roaches will come back)

There are bait traps like Combat that come with something that, no joking, is cockroach birth control. It makes them produce babies that can't reproduce or something like that. It's called Raid bait traps plus Egg stoppers.

I grew up with roaches. it was standard to rewash everything before using. 10 yrs ago we finally got rid of it. Funny how a while back we saw one in my moms house, and EVERONE was running after this one bug. We are paranoid about it. I guess thats what happens if u live w/it too long.

I recently read an article about cockroaches (after the hurricane in FL ppl. are having a problem with it). They recommended pouring full strength bleach down your toilet. That will kill everything. Find out from your local home supply store (even Home Depot - they gave this advice) if you can pour it down your kitchen sink. Good Luck!!!

Seriously, my parents' former apartment was infested with the things - the kitchen swarmed with them, when you would turn the light on you would see them scurrying all over the place. They tried sprays, boric acid, mail-order stuff - nothing helped. Finally they had to move anyhow, so they had an exterminator come and bomb the apartment. And we unpacked all the boxes outside the new apartment so as not to bring the roaches in with us. Problem solved for the next 17 years. Recently on a visit however, I saw a roach... Sad

I have water bugs in my bathroom or maybe they are roaches. But they only stay in my bathroom around my window and shower. It is so weird. I live in a private house and I keep my bathroom window open. I actually think that is were they are coming from.

I would suggest getting your own exterminator to bomb and spray. It could be there are some holes that he can close up. But you need to be consistent to have him coming for a few months. It works in a home - not sure about an apt, but it's worth a try, no? especially if you're not moving any time soon.

im getting the feeling that some people actually do live with roaches and have resigned to having them in their house.
we had ants a few months ago and when we were buying spray the guy told us: "lucky its only ants and not roaches- one roach can carry 900+ diseases! shock

by the way, if you check out all the exterminator websites, they consider waterbugs and roaches the same thing. a long time ago our neighbor told us she has waterbugs and I went crazy researching what to do before they crawl under our door. I never saw any, so perhaps she meant centipedes which we do see every once in a while.

the roaches in florida are much different than the regular NY roaches- they are BIG and FAST down there. the first time I saw one I had no idea what it was- I told my friend there was a frog in the bathroom Smile

my cousin lives in a building where e/o has them, but she luckily doesn't. she bombs her kitchen cubbards every pesach and has never seen one.
