My father's beard hairs always went is seforim. My hub thinks it's a bit gross. Anyone ever heard of other ideas???

in sefarim? other ideas? are you asking because you think they need to be saved? why?

Motek, I heard the same thing. I heard if they fall into a sefer you are not suppose to throw them out because they are holy. Have you ever went into shul and you open up a siddur and there is beard hairs in it? I have.

Fulloflove let u'r husband collect his own hairs thats what mine does and yep puts it into a paper bag and then buries it - like shaimos. Now don't ask me sources that you'll have to ask u'r husbands 8)

I have never heard of collecting the hairs! Is that a chasidish minhag? What about for people who shave, do they have to save the little hairs in the shaver and bury them??

They obviously don't consider it holy in the first place if they're shaving...

I have also never heard of this. I can not imagine saving hairs I find lying around the house.

Is that the reason chasidim don't shave? because they consider the beard hairs holy? I always thought it was because it says in the torah that it's not allowed to shave with a blade on the face and Chasidim just don't hold of electric shavers.

but since it's not only halachic concerns but kabbalistic reasons - like chanb mentioned, chasidim and those who follow kabalistic practices (certain sefardi greats for example) don't touch their beards

When ppl write that their husband's put beard hairs in seforim, what exactly do they mean? Do you open up a sefer and find hairs littered in it!?!?

I asked my DH and he said tha the beard is holy and tha is why chassidim dont shave.
he also said he will lookup the source about the seforim business, he said he heard of it before.
hopefully after shabbos, I'll post the answer.
