so dd was upset at me for using a few choice words and while she is correct in not liking them; I feel that she is incorrect in disciplining me

I think in a relationship its extremely important to have open communication. I think it depends how its said. if you want to have a good relationship with your daughter that is open and honest, tell her how u want her to say things when they bother her.

for example instead of saying, you used a bad choice of words, maybe she can say ?mommy It would be much easier for me to hear you if you used these words instead etc....

bh u and ure daughter have a good relationship that she can say how she feels

yea but I can only change for myself and not because she doesn't like it (obviously I am having trouble)

We all make mistakes and there's a proper way for children to correct their parents. When things like that happen to me (and I would imagine it happens to everyone, since no parent is perfect), I try to tell them that you're right, but you can't say it that way, and they've have actually learned the proper way in practice.
But that's only sometimes, since I have a weakness of being too conscious of mistakes and too willing to be corrected, so I don't always catch on when theyre' being chutzpadik. Then the sister usually corrects me for not correcting the first one!

May Hashem help us both with koach and bina!
