Anyone else watching this? My mom and I watch it every year -- it's like a tradition. She has an uncanny ability to pick the winners, too. She called the Havanese that won the Toy Division last night.

You might conclude from this that we're dog people, but we're not. In fact, we don't like dogs all that much. We just like the dog show!

Bonus political joke: there's an Instagram account called "Conservative Pets" where conservatives can send in photos of their dogs, geckos, llamas, or whatever. But there are almost no cats. Why? Say it with me: "Cats aren't conservative: they're libertarian!"

I read an article that male dogs more often win than female dogs because of the patriarchy

Well, none of my favorite dogs won. Best in Show was a Wire Terrier.

My mom says there was obviously Russian interference. Very Happy

Fox, I usually love your posts, but this time you've got it wrong.
Cats = libertarians?

DICTATORSHIP!

Oh, you are so.correct! Total tyranny!

Growing up, we had a cat who didn't understand that it could be sunny and cold at the same time. She would demand to be let out at the front door but would retreat when the cold air hit her. So then she would go to the back door, and we'd repeat the same thing. The cold weather would make her so mad that she'd race angrily around the house until she was exhausted and needed a nap.

Now, what's notable is not the cat's behavior; it's that the entire family went along with it, repeatedly opening doors until the cat was convinced. Even my grandmother, whose mobility was limited, hobbled back and forth with her walker to accommodate the cat.

Tyranny beyond the imagination of impotent human rulers!
