What if the girl s hymen is broken, do to exercise or horseback riding, does she have to report that? Also I don't recall anyone asking me, are you a virgin? do people just assume that you are?

the hymen doesn't change halachic virginity. Just relations.

I think that "virgin" for the ketuba (no one digs too deep) means: never been married/yeduah betzibbur so it's assumed she is a virgin. It's like that in a lot of halachot: don't look too deeply and assume the best.

Yeah, unless she has a child or it's common knowledge, some will assume betula.

yes kesubah is pretty useless ... that is part of why I don't get it ... and why even one would think to beautify it ... by my get the rav said you'll just go to court and figure it all out ... we said yes ... and the end of whatever it said there ... What

and I would think it matters for a halachicly valid kesuba if it said "besula" and she was indeed not one ...

Nah, go prove it 20 years later... he will say no, she will say yes.. who cares, because the money in the ketuba whether for a betula or non is useless, it all gets decided in court. If she was good enough for 20 years, the hymen doesn't matter. Unless he claims mekach taut, and 20 years later is... too late!

I'm not referring to it's validity if you want a divorce ... but rather if you want a kosher kesuba ...

mekach taut = ???? or should I just assume ...
