I have found that it's easier to judge favorably when I constantly make myself find some plausible excuse for someone's behavior. eventually it comes more easily/quickly and you realize how often your excuse is the real reason! starts to really affect how you think in a good way. I also examine myself and realize how I also want to be given the benefit of the doubt.

I think how often I make excuses for my own behavior but can look critically at others...
I tell myself to reverse it! To make excuses for others and carefully examine myself.
