JF, hope you've calmed down.
Here's one recipe you can try for ice cubes:
(they are actually beautiful if done right. No joke)

Buy distilled water. Boil it up.
Fill the trays. Freeze.
You're ice cubes will be clearer than your windows. True fact. Water that doesn't have gases and is pure, and is then boiled to remove additional impurities makes gorgeous cubes. Or any shape, actually...

Good luck!

I'm so gullible, I was actually thinking to try your ice cube recipe :-(

Is there a joke about Brocha Leah that I don't know of?

Actually, look it up. I was dead serious. That's how you make crystal clear ice cubes. I made them once and they're beautiful but it's a pain in the neck because I make like 6 trays at a time and boiling distilled water takes more time than going to the sink.

Do try it. Stunning and no air pockets or fog.

You can look it up online first so u see I wasn't kidding.. Hope u try it!

Jewish foodie when you get the ice cube recipe, wait until it’s partially frozen, then let it defrost and add a few pinches of salt and a couple of dashes of freshly ground pink Himalayan salt. No one will believe you made it yourself, it’s that good.

Will it work with green Himalayan salt? We're makpid not to be gender-biased on Pesach and pink is associated with females

Im nervous I’m going to mess up on the salt water recipe. is it possible for someone to come over and show it to me in person? I think that would be a lot more efficient and I want to make sure it comes out right

What she wrote is true. It was in the family first last week. If you use distilled water, the ice comes out crystal clear.

I would volunteer to come with my family to show you now but, as you can see, I'm not entirely confident with my kitchen skills and this is "one of those recipes". You know, miss one tiny step and you might as well cancel the Seder. It needs finesse. The right touch. It's.. Complicated.

A little off topic. Are you allowed to put salt in the water on yom tov? I never heard you're not, but someone with us, sefard, said you're not allowed to.

Hot water melts the salt well.

Thanks for all your recipes. I made all the versions mentioned so I can offer my guest a variety and they really enjoyed the choices.

Thanks to all the Imas, I'll be set for next year Smile

The salt is not supposed to be melted. You have to SEE the salt.

I accidentally used my sole water. People loved it. That’s literally 26% salt!
