What do you all have to say about what we can do at home and schools to prevent it in the first place? Please don't reply that most kids that are at risk, come from troubled homes. We already know that. What about the ones that don't come from broken/troubled homes? Most people that get lung cancer smoke, what about the those that never smoke, live in the country and eat a healthy diet and then get cancer?

good to see someone acting, but it is pathetic that it has to be done. The bored will be saved, but the really bad kids will not stop for that...

IMO This is just a bandaid treatment for a serious problem. Solutions must be found for giving "mediocre" and lower children, who feel like non-achievers, because of bad grades and personality issues, and who therefore feel like they'll be unlikely to succeed in the future, a better taste of the world at large, and not a preparation for what they envision as a scary rat race that they will face out there, as adults.
I am sure that this has alot to do with it. If they feel unsuccessful at school as kids, they have nothing to look forward to as adults, even though many kids do better in their adult lives., and the formerly successful kids often sink.
