Would you be upset if other people fed your dog?

Would you say anything?

If you didn't say anything, can one assume it's ok?

Yes. Same as if someone fed my child something without my permission. Sometimes our pets have dietary needs that are just as important as those of our children. I'd politely explain why it's not acceptable.

But then I would wonder how it was possible that someone else could feed my pet. Did they jump the fence? Break and enter my home?

I open the door when I hear him snuffling and scratching. He makes a beeline for the kitchen and DEVOURS the cat's food.

His owner never seems upset, but maybe he's too polite to say anything?

In what context in terms of feeding?

I used to carry dog treats around for dogs I met.

How would a person generally be feeding a strange dog though?

See above. The dog is a neighbor.

I wouldn't be upset.

If my dog had digestive issues, then of course I would speak up.

But I wouldn't be upset if my dog engaged in natural dog behaviors and for some reason dogs really love cat food.

If anything the reverse might be more true in terms of a dog barging in and eating my cat's food. If I owned a cat of course 😀

But I am probably not a great representative since I am fairly easy going in terms of animal behavior unless there is a health issue or they are being destructive. As the dog owner, I would be more likely to be apologetic to my neifpghbor for he boorish behavior of my dog than annoyed st my neighbor because my dog had eaten something. And again, unless the cat food was causing problems for my dog, I would think it was pretty funny.

My dog once found half a slice of pizza on the street and for weeks afterwards, he was excited to approach the spot ever hopeful there would be another bit of pizza manna from dog heaven. 🌈😇

Heck the owner sounds like he's too cheap to feed his own pet and too inconsiderate to keep it contained on his own property.

Lol we don't mind. The princess won't eat anything that's been sitting out for like, a minute Smile Doggy cleans her plate and then we give her fresh food.

1. Aren't dogs always hungry? Even if they literally just ate?

2. He owns the building.

I would tell the owner that his dog has been coming in and eating the cat food and ask him what to do or if it's ok. If it was my dog, I would want to know, although, as long as it wasn't a health concern, I wouldn't mind.
