What can we do to strengthen our "ayin tova"? I.e. Finding the good in people, being grateful for what we have, fargining others for what they have (even if we don't and it's something we want), etc., etc.

Just do it!
Look for the good.
Be grateful.
Fargin.

know that Hashem created everyone ... and we each have our good qualities and our shortcomings ... just like we don't want to be judged for the bad ... do not judge others ... what is hard for someone else may be easy for you - or what is easy for them may be hard for you ... we each have our tafkid to work on ...

Thanks - I like these responses...
Anyone else? (I'm bumping this up b/c I posted it shortly before the website went down, so people may have missed it and I'd like to hear more responses.)

Read Yehudit Samet's book, "The Other Side of the Story." A collection of stories of unexpected reasons people did what they did. Can accustom you to harness your imagination to provide seemingly far-fetched justifications for others, this will help defuse your own annoyance/anger/hurt. You can learn to assume they meant well, look at other people with more of an "ayin tova."
Also, try to work on being happy for other people, their victories big & small. Feel WITH them. Think how would you feel if this was happening to you.
Try to always think of good wishes you can extend to them in whatever circumstances they find themselves. Daven for them, not only when a life is at stake. Feel like you have a stake in their[/u] success. True ahavas Yisroel.
And Hashem promises us that whoever blesses His children, shall himself receive blessings....
so-- brocha v'hatzlocha -- and let us know what worked for YOU!
