ever wonder why kitties knead on people and things ...
as I sit here and watch my nieces baby kitties nursing that is exactly what they do - they knead the mommy cat to get the milk flowing I guess ... so it must be a security blanket sort of idea [I've thought this before - but watching babies confirms it for me]

That's what I've always read. Also, that cats have scent glands in their paw pads, so it's a way of marking territory.
Whatever the reason, I always found it nearly as comforting and relaxing as my cats did. I grew up with a cat or two underfoot at all times, and I miss having one terribly. Alas, DH is allergic (or so he claims).
So I'm stuck with Neko Atsume for now! Enjoy the kitties!
