I'm finding that shulem and akiva are exactly the same.
They both make irrational decisions and have very similar personality traits. Any thoughts?
I don't think it's irrational decisions, just the whole family has serious communication issues. They all need to sit down with a competent therapist and learn to properly express themselves!

from the snippet of the next episode, kive is seen painting and then libi sees it (the painting) so I guess he is picking it up again and letting libi know its a package deal he with the paint...

I loved it.
Kiva is not meant for an office job. He's also not meant to be boxed in. And that's just what Libi did to him. He's starting to realize that?
Aliza must keep herself away from Shulem. He likes having her around because she makes him feel good. He's very much not in touch with his feelings for her, or hers for him.
I also want to add that it's not just that the acting / writing is so good, but also that the way this TV show is filmed is much more like a movie and adds to the drama.

Yes, she basically was pining after Shulem in Season One, and then was set up with someone else. There was a scene where she asked Shulem if he'd be OK with her meeting someone for a shidduch. He did the "בהחלט" thing he does.
But the little speech she gave him in episode 10 about finishing what you start- I took that to mean that she knows that she still has feelings for him and should keep away because she's committed to someone else (her husband).
Anyone else think that the sole purpose of the ice skating scene was to show that Akiva and Libi are shomer negiah?
I was imagining a non-frum person watching and thinking, just hold his hand already!
1- Yes, the ice skating scene was good shomer negiah practice :-) But it also was supposed to be somewhat romantic .
2-This lack of acknowledging/ admitting/discussing feelings is terrible. What Libi and Akiva need to do is COMMUNICATE. She is worried that the art will consume him, he will become involved in his exhibits etc and especially after he forgot to daven one time... she is right in what she told Kaufman that it can consume a person (who knows what couldve been if he went to America-- I know its a show and not real! Just going along with that story line), but if she wants to be in his life, she can hold him in place! He needs to use art to express himself. She encouraged him and he found himself in it. Until now the highlight of his life was bumming around by Anshin- the art gives him meaning. A compromise can work beautifully. He wants Libi and art.
Can't they just talk? Anyone know a good therapist for them ;-)
3- I mentioned Tzvi Aryeh and his kidney story. I know it was fake, but they didn't follow that whole story of his low self esteem--- first he was a mice catcher, and was lamenting how he didn't become a child wonder. All these stories get left aside. Which brings me too...
4- The Ruchami story from the beginning I think was absurd. I kind of wish they would end it already but they keep skipping out on it anyway.
5- Sad about Aliza and Shulem. She is so smart and with it-- very aware of her's and other's feelings. And I love her "accent". What she saw in him who knows but at least he got rid of Menucha.
6- Nochem is FOR SURE involved in shady business. No doubt.
7- They can't really have Kive break it off again.
If Akiva gets married, that is basically the end of the show.
I think that in between the sensationalist TV show plots, there is alot of Charedi realism which includes the very topic of not discussing touchy subjects.
If Akiva gets married, that is basically the end of the show.
You think so? I also don't see how they can have him call off another wedding. Can't they continue the show with the difficulties of first year, of him trying to figure out his role in the marriage, trying to make it work?

What is her accent?
I totally agree about the need for therapy and that Nochum is shady.
