Did anyone understand the purpose of the story involving Gitty/Lipa's son and the yeshiva?
Also regarding Menucha and Shalom, obviously she is not too nice, but she's such a funny character that I would like to see more of how she interacts with him. After all, this is not real life.. and he's no prize either!

I think somebody fell in love with the idea of the Novarderker asking for nails at the pharmacy. Although I thought I heard it as asking for an umbrella at the bakery.

That video guy was awful but actually really smart idea. Most ppl would by that probably.
Menucha is way too overbearing although Shulem should learn to stick up for himself. But she played the part really well, great actress.
I wonder if they killed Bubba just so Libi and Akiva can meet again. Im assuming they'll make final closure,no way that'll amount to anything.

I didn't get that and your theory totally makes sense. She sees that he's not a total moron and maybe he has a valid point once in a while.
Maybe that's why he ran away in Season 1-- to get away from her very quiet and passive aggressive disappointment in marrying a sug bet non learner.
Where's Ruchomi? Did she move back to her apartment so Chanina would come visit?

I too, wonder what libi thinks of akiva after seeing him like that. I like her relationship with kiva the most (over elisheva,hadassah) she really would make a supportive, loving wife. the other relationships are extremely superficial.

I was thinking more along the lines of what her Bubba said, to break her gayva. She felt like they have all the reasons to get in if it weren't for Lipas Argentina stint. She has to realize that she doesn't need the best yeshiva etc.
But your right at the same time it'll help her realize Lipas virtues.

While I really enjoy watching this show, so many of the storylines seem so unrealistic. They often leave you hanging and you really don't know what's going on between episodes. I think Menucha did a fantastic job in her role, but it's time for her to go. Kiva finds himself in compromising positions constantly. He almost can't distinguish between reality and what's going on in his head. So sad Bubba is no longer- she was fun.

My DH says Yichud would be assur until she goes to the mikva (like a chuppas niddah), so the rented apartment doesn't make sense halachikly.
If she went to the mikva but they didn't have relations, yichud would be assur once she got her period again. In other words, she has to go to the mikva and they have to have relations before she gets her period again in order to live together.
I think its funny how much everyone is over examining the story with Ruchami and Chanina. First of all, in that community, I am MORE THAN 100% sure that Ruchami knows NOTHING about what it really means to be married. She is still in school and has learned nothing yet about relations and mikvah. Weather CHanina knows anything or not, he is a shy boy and I dont think in those circles he would start talking to her about it all.
So yes, the story line is extremely unrealistic, but so are most of the stories there.
Kiva and Hadasa? That was is beyond unrealistic. And Shulem and Menucha? They never left the door open. ever.
But thats what makes this show so great. Its unrealistic but wonderful too.
I agree that bubbe dying was so that Akiva and Libi could have an excuse to get together. Sad. I was even sadder when Rebbitzen Ehrlich died. What a character.
I personally can't stand Nuchem and I hope he goes back to Belgium.
