We have these black scratchy rug thingies near the litter box and outside the bathroom. I don't really like them though. Is there something easier?

My cats love them. What don't you like about them?
I've seen rubber mat things sold in stores specifically for that. They certainly wouldn't leave the cardboard mess.
My cats just love to scratch on that cardboard thingy, and it was cheap by comparison to scratch posts.

I love those "top entry" litterboxes where the cat has to go down into it, then jump back out. You can find them on Amazon by searching "top entry litter box"
