Can anyone recommend some outdoor low maintenance plants or flowers that look nice and don't need much caring for?
I am terrible with gardening but would like to purchase some plants to give color to the front of my house.
What looks nice, doesn't cost a lot and will survive with little maintenance?

Home Depot and local farms sell planters already filled with a variety of flowers in all sizes and colors. They only require watering. That's what I buy.

Thanks -- do you need to replant them in the ground?

Oh you want something in the ground? I misunderstood. The planters I am talking about are those I put near the steps and by the driveway.
Either way, farms and Home Depot sell plants in little pots that you can transplant anywhere. Most of them just require water.
I'd suggest finding a small local farm with salespeople who can help you answer such questions. That's what we are doing now regarding a vegetable patch.

Depending on your climate zone, marigolds, zinnias, cosmos, dahlias, dianthus, blazing star liatris or astilbes .
