I have never heard about Rabbis saying women can't work in offices, maybe they should tell the men to quit kollel too and go to Uni before they get engaged and get good jobs, then they wouldn't have that problem.
The internet problem with some Rabbis I have heard it and they even decided to post a leaflet through everyone's door at one point, but it wasn't my Rav saying it so I didn't listen. My rav will not come to me and say "you aren't allowed internet" he will only give his advice if you ask it, which is what they should be doing.
How about when they banned the park. This was because girls and boys were meeting there. So did that mean no one else can enjoy the park?
Did it mean the boys and girls didn't meet? No it meant they still went to the park or they would go somewhere else to socialise.
Sometimes the "Rabbis" seem to think that by banning it'll solve the problem. It's like putting cover up on a bruise and thinking it'll go away.
