how much does a nurse cost?

I live in wb and expecting twins. I would like to know how much a nurse would cost.
1- a 24 hour nurse
2- a seperate day and night nurse.

I heard that u could get from the city a nurse for 12 hours a day. is it true?
do you have to write that the children are delayed or something similar?

I asked a friend that's a baby nurse and she said the prices vary greatly. she says twins could be between 1.5x to 2x normal rate.
24 hour could be between 300 to 350. she doesn't know of a minimum.
other hours would probably be between 25-35 per hour per child.
also she wasn't aware of the city/state paying for a baby nurse unless the child/children are not physically CH"V well. in which case you would get one from the hospital.

I think if they are born prematurely or if the doctor writes a note that you feel incapable or the like, you can get one from the city.

I had several weird experiences with state provided nurses - I ended up deciding I would do better on my own already (but I had a singleton). The free nurses need to be checked and monitored carefully in the beginning, I wanted to say it (not that paid ones need to be trusted from start either).

It might pay to get a 24 hour nurse over a day/night nurse separately.

I just had fraternal twin girls (and I have a 2 1/2 year old at home) My girls are 5 month old now. I had a baby nurse for six weeks. It cost 500 a week plus 65$ agency fee. I don’t know what your situation is but right now I have a live-in nanny and I like her way better then the baby nurse. I am paying my nanny 1200 a month (which I think is unusually cheep) I found her on craigslist. I interviewed her 3 times, checked multiple references and started with a one week trial. B”H it worked out.

There is an agency that provides nurses ( I think in Lakewood) . And when I had my baby (2yrs ago), I called to find out their prices, I believe they told me its 24/6, the nurse gets one day off and its $500. I didn't end up needing one. 500 is a reasonable price. The only things is, and this is why I didn't hire a baby nurse, if you have other kids they won't help, they are there only for the baby. I was looking for help all around. If you have other kids, it may make more sense to find full time live in help. Live in help is around 400-550/week, depending on where you live.
