Does anyone have recipes (or links to recipes) for non gebrochts pesadik cake? I have potato starch...and I'd even like to try something using dates, bananas and walnuts. Hubby is dying for cake or any kind of nosh.

Do you have the purple Pesach Lub cookbook? the banana cake recipe isn't bad.

check out my recipe from b4 yomtov.easy delish and takes 2 minutes to prepare -everyone loves it!

as I was saying, for the banana nut cake, you can sub carrots, too. or apples. if you try anything else, pls post !

SPONGE CAKE
10 eggs - separated
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup oil
juice of 1/2 lemon
1 cup potatoe starch
1 tsp baking powder
beat whites with 1/2 sugar and vanilla in one bowl
beat everything else in other bowl
fold together and bake in 2 round 9" pans
I double recipe for 4 cakes
and I add ground almonds in yellow batter for variation
serve with jelly
or in your case cut up bananas

CHOCOLATE MOUSSE
16 eggs separated
2 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups cocoa
1/3 cup oil
1/4 cup water
beat whites with half of sugar and vanilla in one bowl
mix rest in other bowl
fold together
bake half of recipe in 2 round 9" pans
when done and cooled put other half on top
I always put one in fridge and one in freezer cause some like it one way and other like it the other way ...
and we serve with that raspberry syrup that kedem makes ... mmmmmmm

No they actually both come out delish -
the recipes that I didn't like I stopped making altogether ... like the brownies which are a hit or miss ... either they are raw or rocks ...

Really? I have only made the mixes which are a litle bit bitter, I promised the kids I would find new cake recipes and make them, but the eggy factor turns me off . . . and then we won;'t h ave anything . . ..

they have mixes which are not gebrocht ... I wouldn't believe it ... anyway try it your kids will be happy ... I serve the nutty one with jelly ...

simply cut a piece and eat it with jelly ... raspberry or apricot ... spread it ... open your mouth and eat it ... with coffee or tea ... or s/t to drink ... ah a L'chaim ... so did you make it or what ....
