I was thinking about an animals theme, cuz it should be easy to get costumes to match, but it was harder on the food part!
But I found lots of fruit ideas....
apple chips, different fruit candies, etc...
A few questions...

*will raisins go? (or it is pathetic)
*what about apricots?
*what else?

Also, any one have a catchy saying to go with it? Happy Fruitim just doesn't go very well....

Any kids' costume ideas? I know of a strawberry, but I don't have girls! I have 2 little boys (ages 1 & 2).
thanks!

ps if this is a nebachy idea, please let me know (be honest!) and give me a better one. I want something not too expensive. thanks!

I did a bear theme last year, my son was dressed as one and I got small bear baking pans off amazon so I baked little bear cakes, I also put in a bottle of beer (instead of wine) and the tommy bear chocolates,

I think a fruit theme can be cute, if you are more specific with a certain fruit. if you want to make costumes there are tons of patterns online, or you can buy prepared online.
try apple theme, banana, grape, orange.. etc. just do specific fruit so its cuter.
I bought ds costume halloween time.

what about bananas - banana bread, actual bananas, those little banana candies - message: "Its Purim - Go Bananas!"

Get your boys monkey costumes or try to make them with brown felt. Be sure they each have a banana to hold.

banana pudding, banana chips

Wow! Maybe I should do this myself. Funny how I can be creative for someone else, but I've been going crazy trying to come up with a honey theme - dressing my kids as bees.

My SIL did a Fruit Theme one year.
I can't remember exactly what she put in, I do remember a fruit flavored wine, a fruit salad in a fruit-cup (plastic), fruit flavored candies and some other stuff.
She packaged it up nicely on a plate with a fruit patterned napkin underneath.

I bought a lot of dried fruit a few weeks ago, posted about it, and didn't get many replies.

I think it's a matter of taste.

Have a GRAPE Purim!
You can use grapes, raisins, grape juice, grape flavored nosh etc.
You can make a costume that looks like a bunch of grapes by using purple or green ballons.

ORANGE you glad it is Purim
You can use oranges, orange juice, orange colored or flavored nosh etc.

I once got one with the line

"And the Jews of Shushan lived appley ever after...."

Kind of corny, but it has stuck in my head all these years
