At this point, unfortunately, there is no way.

I know this is a long shot, but if I can locate a no-kill shelter near Philadelphia in the next day or two, could you get them here?

PAMOM, thank you, but they are too old, sensitive, and domestic to survive in any shelter.

It looks like I'll be going with plan B, sending them to a relative in another city.

They won't be homeless. It's a long car ride, though, very stressful for old kitties.

Daven for Annie and Charlotte bat Sequoia that they'll get through the trip in one piece and adjust well to their new home.

Maybe the vet can give the cats something to make the trip easier on them.

Like a valium for cats? Is that a good idea?

I think it depends how they're travelling ... by plane give them something for sure ... by car - make them cozy as can be in their pet cage with favorite toys and blanket or what have yous & stop every so often to coddle them & don't forget to buckle them in - for really

We took our cats with us when we moved. Literally all day driving for ten days. Stopping at night. They meowed loudly the first hour of each day but settled down and slept the rest. They were probably approaching ten years old each. We didnt give them any sedatives.
Yours will probably sleep fine.
