taco salad is pretty crowd-friendly
lettuce
tomatoes
cucumbers
avocados
dress with 1000 island dressing or a mixture of mayonnaise, bbq sauce, garlic and onion powders and salt. crush tortilla chips on top.

Nish Nash Salad:
1 bag Romaine Lettuce
1 bag purple cabbage
1 bag green vabbage
6 scallions (or 1 onion)
1 bag Nish Nash crackers sour cream & onion - http://allfreshkosher.com/kosh......html
Dressing:
4 Tbsp mayonnaise
2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 tsp soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp mustard
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

any lettuce salad is fairly simple, just needs to be dressed right before putting
there are so many different kinds, here are just a few examples
caesar
ramen noodle
strawberry mango
if you want something non lettuce, you can go with
pasta
corn
marinated veggies
israeli
broccolli
string bean/mango

Every single I time I make it, I get TONS of compliments and requests for the recipe!
(I use romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, avocado, & hearts of palm. You can also substitute croutons for the nish nash crackers.)
