How does anyone have the motivation to cook elaborate meals again?
We're having the bare basics: Challah, Salmon, Chicken soup (only cause I froze some from Pesach), Chicken, rice and a simple green salad. Fresh fruit for dessert.

Hence, we are having take-out! More because I have a huge test and a couple of papers for grad school to work on post-Pesach! I didn't make Pesach but it was still exhausting!

Let's revive this thread! I don't know why, but I love hearing about what other people are preparing for Shabbos. It's also really helpful to when I will be having company.

ok, so I'm having last minute company and have a ton to do, but this is my plan:
friday night
challah
baked gefilte fish with sauce and peppers (already made--woohoo!)
chicken soup with matza balls and roitach
baked chicken in white wine (recipe from rovacat)
sesame noodles
farfel
potato kugel
shlishkas (not a lot--I bought them)
potato knishes with french's onions on top
deli roll
spanish rice
salad (not sure what type. probably just typical)
ambrosia for dessert (also made already)
shabbos day
homemade sauteed liver
egg salad
mushroom salad
guacamole
tortilla chips and salsa
israeli salad
cholent
sesame noodles if there's leftover
deli roll if there's leftover (doubtful)
was going to make krautpletzlach but I think there's too many carbs as is. Not that yeshiva boys care.
really should keep cooking...
