How do I defrost frozen salmon? Also what would be a good recipe to make with it? Preferably not a "fishy" recipe, like just spices. My husband would hate that and I'm not sure how good it would be with frozen anyway. A good breaded & baked recipe would probably work well.

TIA

First of all, when I cook frozen salmon, I take it out of the freezer, dress it up and put it into the oven, frozen and cook.

I use chutney and lemon to spice my salmon. Not fishy in that regard.

I make frozen salmon all the time.
Ok so either you can put it in a bowl of water ( while its still in the packaging) and let it defrost for a few hours or you can just add extra cooking time- spice and put it into the oven frozen
- if you like teryaki sauce just pour it over the fish and its yum (not fishy cuz teryaki has a strong taste_
another recipe I make is-
spread oil over fish- not a lot- just take a napkin and 'wipe' it w/ oil (this removes fishy taste) then take a frozen garlic cube- mush it into the fish. Sprinkle fresh lemon. Then add salt and black pepper to taste.

I just made some this morning.

I either defrost it in a bowl of cold water, or in the fridge for a day or so. DH likes honey mustard dressing, so I just pour some on and bake it at 375 for about 9 minutes. It cooks a little more after it comes out.

I'm not sure that salmon works as well for breading, because it breaks apart, but I guess it could work.

smear salmon with mayonnaise & ketcup & sprinkle on corn flake crumbs. Bake @ 350 covered for 30 min. Drizzle some honey & bake another 5 min uncovered.
