I agree that those of us who are overweight and responded that they think overweight and pretty is better, are biased, but I think regardless of our weight we would definitely prefer to be prettier than ugly. JMHO

I just don't get it. Overweight usually means less healthy. I am over weight and not too bad looking, I think.

I would MUCH rather be less good looking and slimmer -- not skinny, per se, but slimmer - because then I'd be healthier.

We don't do open coffins, so who wants to be pretty and DEAD?

I know a few of my moms friend who are overweight but dress very well, have a great personality and have a certain confidence about themselves.

We dont get to pick our looks, but we do get to control our bodies.

As someone who has a model-material face with a fat body, I can tell you that I would rather be thin and uglier. No one notices my face - everywhere I go I am the "fat girl."

ah, but you are assuming that if you had a thin body and ah...unfortunate...face, people would like your looks. Not necessarily so. Maybe then you'd be the "ugly girl"...

BTW there are large-size models...yes, models...and they are gorgeous and make big buck$ modeling for Just My Size and similar companies. Look at Kirstie Alley--even fat she was gorgeous.

Kirstey Alley, is good looking???????????
I really really don't like the way she looks
lets say Rosie Odonell, she is fat and ugly,
but monica lewinsky is very pretty and fat
you know, even when one is fat one can be skinny,
how so ?
when I went to my surgen this week for a "refill" he tells me, you are one of my skinniest patients....that felt good, to feel skinny for a change.....even while being fat ( most his patients are close to 300 lbs...

I know that I am overweight bcause I pigged out-mostly from stress and depression, but I took it all out on food. My guess is that you are mostly in control of your body unless you have some kind of medical condition which doesnt allow you to lose weight!
