I'm so sorry for your loss Crying

Maybe this will cheer you up a bit. Are you into bunnies? We just got one and he/she is adorable.

We are having a birth JUST NOW!
Bérénice the hairless low-eared rat gave birth to 11 (for now) babies, 5 or 6 look very healthy BH!

Sorry for your loss. You got him a kallah, but he apparently did not consent to her and passed out when he saw her. Sad You know, they like to go on dates and make their own choices.

Mazel Tov to the new ones. May you have lots of hatzlocheh with them.

Oh, the newbies are adorable! And Berenice looks so lively and alert! I don't remember feeling that good after giving birth!

Thank you Fox!!

No, they have been arranged for the pic! lol

what did you use to move them? I saw a hampster eat their babies after they were touched with bare hands...I umm don't know if this applies to ratties...cute pictures.

I always said I had birthes like rats until I saw that some turn very ugly (one lost all her dozen of babies Sad )... BH Berenice is a good birther and a good nurser.

You can touch baby rats, it's not a problem. Smile We touch them every day so they grow up extremely social.

We got a RABBIT to replace the animals we lost recently. IYH he should live longer than guinea pigs and for sure rats.
He still doesn't have a name! (help!!)
He's a rare species, took one year to find one, we found him the day we lost two of our favs... so we went for it.
