Help!!! I have at least 8 piles of washing. Towels, bedding, whites, darks, tea towels and table clothes. Well B"H I'am going to my in laws for Shabbos so I do not have to worry about Shabbos food, just washing clothers and ironing them. Maybe I should change that the in laws can come for Shabbos and I'll send the laundry to them. I hate IRONING!

B"H
I prepared in advance - I did much of my Shabbos cooking yesterday. Tomorrow's focus is laundry, laundry, and more laundry!! I probably have about 8 loads as well.
Not so much fun all at once.

One in the machine, ready to go tomorrow morning. At least 2 more (one white, one coloured)...and that's just the clothes. If you include bedding and tablecloths it adds another load. We're only 2 adults and a baby! (And I did laundry last Friday.)

3 loads of colors, 1 load of white.
and for the last two months I had a such a great system, I was doing a load every day, and it never piled up. so its kind of depressing every time my eye darts to the laundry shoot pilled in between floors literally of dirty clothing. O well.

do we have to wait until chatzos tomorrow to do laundry?
I dread it....I have a small machine and turns into a dryer...so when the wash is done, I can't even start the next load!

I have 5-6 loads that I am planning to do before SHabbos, IY"H>
It was actually a bit "vacation-like" just putting things in the hamper
this week, knowing that I do not have to do it soon.
However, by kind of 'cheating' the children did re-wear some
cleanish T-shirts this week. I usually wash them all after one wear.
New week, no camp, teachers in-services coming up -- way too fast of a summer !

I believe that laundry may be done after the fast. Since tomorrow is Erev Shabbos, laundry may be done Thursday night in order to prepare for Shabbos. Also, haircuts can be taken tonight.

We discussed this on another thread.
According to one opinion you can wash laundry for Shabbos as soon as the fast ends. Another opinion Fri am. Ask your LOR.
(This only applies because it's erev Shabbos this year)

That I did not know I always thought on Eruv Shabbos after Tisha B'Av you should wait untill the morning.
What am I doing the fast ended 5 minutes ago, I need to go and daven Maariv and then have something to eat.
Thinking of you those that are still fasting, the fast will be over soon.
Goldrose I will be thinking of you schlepping those washes up and down those stairs, Good Luck.

I guess we need to ask a rov...I read somewhere that you can wash and get a haircut earlier...didn't say about laundry, though!

according to ou.org:
This year, with the 10th of Av being Erev Shabbat, haircutting, shaving, bathing, and laundry are all permitted from Friday morning (not noon, but not Thursday night either). Other poskim disagree and say that those activities that are Shabbat- preparatory in nature are permitted right after Tish'a b'Av. Pleasurable swimming, however, as opposed to bathing, is allowed only after CHATZOT on Friday.

I asked my Rov., he said that kids laundry may be done tonight as soon as the fast is over (I'm also in the UK so mine is merrily spinning around as we speak!) but for adults you must wait until Chatzos tonight, I.e. 1.15 am tomorrow morning.
