and what do you use instead of butter? margarine? Crisco?

I actually never use margarine, or butter, or crisco. I use oil, its much healthier to use than marg.

oil doesn't really work in cookies.

not true. I use them in my chocolate chip cookies and they come out very yummy.

I dont even have margarine in the house anymore so its not even an option here.

no, I usually start with a quarter to a half of the amount of oil that I would have put marg. for example, if there was one cup marg, I would start with a quarter cup oil and see what the consistancy turns out. if I need more, I put in another quarter. thats usually enough.

so u encouraged me to make this b4 the fast started on Wed (like I had nothing else to do...) & my husband loved it! Smile he said: did u do s/t diff this time, & I'm like, hello- it's a totally diff recipe Smile ok, I didnt say it like that, but I was thinking that- my choc chip cookie recipe tastes very diff from this one, but I guess the cook notices the minute differences Wink
thanks for the recipe

Thank you so much to everyone who recommended this recipe (I went with the one on the top secret recipe website since I am a fan of that site)!
I made a batch with my little ones, and besides being a really fun activity the cookies were incredible! I served them today for my youngest's birthday party... definitely worth the effort!!
