I am scraping my new house with moistecure.
Will onions on the window sills help take away the smell? Do I cut the onions? Or leave them whole. How many per window?

what is moistecure?
traditionally, open bowls of vinegar or simmering a mixture of spices like cinnamon, cloves and allspice in a pot on the stove is supposed to neutralize unpleasant odors. I must use too much vinegar b/c the kids always complain "eeewwww....it stinks of vinegar in here!" (You'd prefer paint, maybe?)
BTW if you are concerned about the toxic fumes (is moistecure a paint stripper?), neither onions nor vinegar nor sweet-smelling spices are going to neutralize those. Only time and lots of ventilation will dissipate the fumes. Please make sure the product does not contain somehting called "Methylene chloride" which causes cancer. If it's not a hazardous material but just has an obnoxious smell, then any of the above will do. and be sure to ventilate as much as possibe in any case.

Definitely cut the onion in half, the more the merrier. Moisture cure has a very shap smell and is very unhealthy!
Make sure to notify your neighbors! I remember coming home from a wedding late at night during my first trimester, when my downstairs neighbor was scraping (not the one right beneath me) the smell was awful! couldn't breath
