them?
when I wash my panty hose in the sink they s-t-r-e-a-ch!
how can I avoid this? help!

I wash mine in the machine in a zippered mesh bag, but if I were going to wash them by hand and were worried about stretching, I'd squeeze out the water very well, then roll them in a towel to extract as much water as possible. If you really, really worry about stretching, lay them flat on a towel the way you do sweaters, though that seems a little extreme for pantyhose. Knits stretch when they are hung up wet, and the weight of the water pulls them down.
Pantyhose will eventually stretch from wear, anyway, if they last that long. The mfrs. aren't expecting them to last that long.

I keep mine for years, bli ayin horah I don't have a problem.
you can double mesh bags if that's helpful.
let air dry

any time. 
I think pantyhose are a curse imposed upon women by misogynistic designers. Why does a pair of men's sox cost $2 and last a year or three, while a pair of pantyhose cost $5.95 and lasts five or six wearings if you're lucky? They could make runproof hose--the technology is there and in fact around 1968 a store near me sold them (You could slash them with scissors and make a hole, but they would not run.) It took maybe 3 months before they disappeared off the market, never to be seen again.

Hanes has a special bag for washing pantyhose in the machine. I have it for over ten years, and it's great.

My mother taught me a great trick. If you don't want your hose to run then put them in the freezer a half hour before wearing them. I am telling you THEY WON"T RUN!
