What household items do you use besides for its intended use.
baby powder takes off sand
vinegar takes out carpet stains

You can use baking soda to put out flames-
you can use baking soda and pour it down your drain so it will smell
sweet!
if you have a sore throat you can gargle with salt!

Cornstarch in lieu of talcum powder
Baking soda or salt, esp. kosher salt, for scouring powder
Old toothbrush or nailbrush to scrub liquid detergent into collars, cuffs and stains
Nailbrush to scrub veggies
Old toothbrush to clean around faucets and drains
Old pantyhose to clean holes in the toothbrush holder
Bamboo skewer to light stove and candles
Credit-card type plastic to clean candle drippings off furniture and floor, gunk off plastic utensils
