We hung up shoe bags yesterday and I neatly rolled up my leather boots and tucked them in.
I have a feeling they might stick and ruin the leather, so I removed them.
Any thoughts?

it will eventually cause the leather to crack. Store them flat in a box. Get a carton from Xerox paper and cut it down till it's about 4-5 inches deep (or whatever you need to accommodate the boots lying on their sides.) Or you can keep them upright on the closet floor by inserting a I-liter soda bottle, rolled-up newspaper or a couple of cardboard cores from paper towels, foil or the like.
