Absolutely.
And I know it's against halakha to interrupt the Sh'mone Esrei, to speak after Barukh She'amar, to talk during kedusha, etc., etc., and am sure that someday I'll be able to follow that halakha perfectly. Something else to pray for.
But for now, for the single reason that if my children need me, they need me, end of story. And yes, helping a beginner is in my view like helping my children ... and knowing many former beginners, can state with assurance that if they had been brushed off in the beginning, they never would have gone past beginner level. For certain.
