Taco Chip Salad | Imamother

Salad
1 each red, green, and yellow pepper; cut in long strips
1 red onion, sliced
1 heart or small head of Romaine lettuce
1/2 head of cut up iceberg lettuce
1 package of shredded purple cabbage, or approx 1/3 head
1-3 cubed avocados
1 carton of grape or cherry tomatoes, or a few cut up tomatoes
1 package taco or tortilla chips

Dressing
1 part mild salsa
1 part mayo, any kind

Combine vegetables and dress with dressing. Sprinkle chips over salad. Garnish with tomatos.

I made a variation of this salad for Shabbos lunch today, except added some olives and mushrooms and used hot salsa. It was licked clean:)

I had that salad for shalosh seudos yesterday, but used croutons instead of taco chips.

a trick is that when you use croutons or chips in a salad, first dress the salad and then when you are ready to serve it add the chips or the croutons so that they dont get soggy.
