Hello all,

G-d willing, DH, DS, and myself iwll be traveling to Florida to see family at the end of this month.
DS is 8.5 months now and about 21 pounds. He is also very long. He no longer fits into his first car seat that we used as a carrier.
What should put him in on the flight to keep him safe?

Are you getting him a separate seat? We travel a lot, and we never got separate seats for children under 2. We just hold them. How long is the flight?

I'd get a separate seat and get a car seat that is FAA approved. Check whatever car seat you are using now--it may be OK. If not, call the FAA for a list.

I don't know howlong your flight is for, but I fly all the time with my kids, and one of them is always less than 2 yrs, in which case I hold that child. Getting a seperate chair is very expensive, but I guess that too depends on destination.
Have a safe trip, B"H!!!

if the flight is not full ask for an empty seat next to you when you get to theairport. if you don't get one when you check in you might be able to get one at the gate

We did get an extra seat just in case. The travel is mostly paid from my husbands company. I am just unsure if the carseat will work on the plane.
How do I contact the FAA for an approved list of carseats?
