with no disrespect, maybe the Satmar ladies here can explain to me why the argument had to go to a secular court and not a beis din? Are these not the same people who encourage their followers to go to beis din to settle disputes?

Why should anyone explain anything to someone anonymous?

And the same question can be asked of another faction, not chasidic ... so?

saraD- do 2 seeming "wrongs" make a right?
when your kid says, "but everyone else is doing it", do you take that as a valid argument?
I think not.

It went to a court because R' ZL's side refused to go to an impartial bais din, saying that all Satmar din torahs are to be decided by the satmar bais din, and R'Aron's side refuses to go to the satmar bais din cuz they feel they will be biased. instead, they went to court.

The point basically was that it's inappropriate to ask any woman on her board to defend the group she belongs to and explain its actions (especially to anonymous questioners) especially since, generally speaking, unfortunately the same wrong actions are committed by many different groups. Why should one group have to defend itself more than another?

Personally, I think the question should remain unanswered by anyone. It's no one's business.

Additionally, part of my first remark probably was lashon hara (goes to show what happens if you let a day pass without learning the halachos...) and I have deleted it. Sadly, of course, those women who felt compelled to quote me anonymously won't be able to delete the quotes even if they wanted to....

The Satmar Rebbe zt"l had a pretty long nesius--about 26 years, I believe. Does anyone have anything to share about the Satmar Rebbe himself? I know very little about him and would like to know more, so if anyone would like to share...

original amother. Thank you Mindy. That's all I was asking, and you answered my question. It was not intended to start a whole argument.
