child had lots of workups done. No problem at all. I don't even mind that she's wet. It's the awful smell that bothers me. should I keep her home from daycamp as this might be a good time to work on her toilet training...I am at my wits end...any ideas is greatly appreciated.

been to tons of doctors and specialists. there is no physical problem with her according to drs. today I gave her tons to drink. She keeps on running to the bathroom and she is still wet. I have the urinary infection test strips. At home it lights up as if she has infection. Doctors office lab shows no infection.

Did the specialists give you any suggestions? I've had that off and on with DS, now he's 9. Also went to a specialist and they found no physical cause. He was put on medication for a while, though, forget the name of it (I could find out) and it seemed to help, but it's not a long-term solution. I was told, however, that if meds and nothing else works, (including IGNORING it just in case there's some chance it's being done for a "reaction"), the next step is biofeedback. We never did it, but maybe you should look into it? It's not painful or anything, just time-consuming as you have to do it over a period of time, maybe once or twice a week? But maybe it would be a good time to do it now in the summer...good luck!

There is some sort of alarm that wakes up a child who is wetting their bed. It worked for a relative of mine. Sorry I don't have more info.

The OP has a daughter who is wetting herself during the DAY. It is a different problem than night wetting (or nocturnal eneurisis) and therefore may be treated in a different way.

if there's no physical problem, at that age, an incentive can help - that's how I cured my 8-yr-old of bedwetting. Promise her a prize of some sort every day she stays dry.

I had this with one of my kids until about age ten, and I have a friend with an almost 7 yo who is currently dealing with this. I was told by a doctor that there's nothing we can do about it except wait until he grows out of it. He's 13 now, and still has the occasional nocturnal accident, but is fine otherwise. My friend is currently looking for a solution, I'll try to update if anything works.

My 4.5 year old DS has this problem, and it's driving me nuts! I remind him to go all the time, sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. I really hope he grows out of it...

thank you so much for all your replies. seeing that I'm not alone with this problem makes me feel less isolate. I just want to clarify one more time. It is only a day wetting issue she has. Also, please explain to me what biofeedback means. I never heard of that one before?

I see it's an old thread that has been brought back up.
My niece had a DAYTIME wetting issue. My sister worked hard with her. She had a (temporary) medicine to take and together with timers & drinking every x amount of time & sitting on toilet for 2 minutes every x amount of time they were able to train her body to go at specific times. Too early to call her, but I believe she is doing gr8 now.
PM me for more details. (or email me at fay123@gmail.com)

I will repeat this whenever necessary. If you are in the NY area, Dr Daum in Long Island has done wonders, even with autistic kids, who tend to have such issues. He has an almost 100% success rate. A relative of mine is currently doing his program and it's going well (7 year old boy who doesn't only wet).
