Sorry, I didnt know where to write this, but after reading about the imafather.com... I figured its ok....

Lately DH's hair started falling out in the front (hes young, 23).

Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
He doesnt mind it, but will do what needs to be done to prevent this, cuz I hate it.

Any advice, please......

YOU can't do anything but learn to accept it.

Can it be a vitamin deficiency?

There is a pill for it called Propecia, but it needs a doctor's prescription and women cannot touch the pill or come in contact with the dust from the pill because the medicine can cause birth defects in a male fetus. Sounds scary to me. But supposedly it works.

We got married in our early 20's, and dh was already losing hair. You get used to it, and be nice to your Dh. You don't make him take risky uneccesary pills, and maybe go ahead and talk to a doc about vitamin deficiencies (though I never heard of that). Focus on other things that you love about your dh, give yourself time to adjust.
Oh and you tell yourself how nice it will be as you grow old with your husband and you lose some of your youth, that you can both appreciate each other throughout these changes that are part of life.

I'm laughing here.
DH was going bald before I met him, he probably started still in his teens.
23 is old in comparison LOL

learn to live with it, it's a fact of life, like grey hair and wrinkles. You married the man not his hair.

Same here. Just whatever you do, don't encourage a comb over because those are far uglier than baldness!

I agree on the "JUST SAY NO" to comb-overs....

It's better just to keep it all short.

And, not looking at anyone's husbands or any men at all, I personally don't find balding men to be unattractive. (unless they do the comb-over, toupee, spray on hair (yes this exists) thing)

my husband's friend just got a hair transplant because he was going bald. If you have a spare $10k that might work for your hubby too.

they basically cut a strip of hair follicles from the back of the head, and then implant each follicle individually in the area where the hair is gone.

I think there canbe halachic ramifications to this, so AYLOR.

When adult men lose their hair its usually genetic, I highly doubt it has to do with a vitamin deficiency.

Some men lose it earlier than others and some never do.

I agree with those that said that comb overs are not attractive. I actually think it looks the worse while it is falling out, but once its all gone it looks distinguished.

I personally think that hair transplants are a waste of money, but I guess to each their own.

Just so you know, I can understand why it's a problem. If it would have been receding when you met, you'd be prepared. Now, besides whatever hishtadlus is reasonable (and if there's not a family history, do look into medical issues) (and be matter of fact, not hysterical) you'll have to work on the acceptance angle. You know, B"H you found each other, his great smile, etc. But it's worth it!

I say this with a family history, but having married into a family where the men do seem to keep their hair a while, so I'm trying to be understanding ;-)

And I third the combover. Tell him not to even think of it, if he ever mentions it.

I really don't find it unattractive. Actually the opposite as I am looking forward to growing old with my dh. I think it is a big turnoff when guys are too into their looks and would worry excessively over going gray or balding.

OP, do you think you would feel that much different if it started in another 10 years from now? You know it would happen someday, most likely. Maybe you'll go gray early. You can color it but he can't (AFAIK.) Women also lose their hair often and it thins at the top of the head.

My dh has been going bald since we've been married and we married young.
I don't think it normally signifies any significant health issue, so just learn to love a bald guy.

You could have him try Rogaine. It's certainly cheaper than a hair transplant. But I'm kind of LOL that a woman is really bothered by this. You do realize it happens sooner or later to most men?
