DS 2 1/2 comes home from playgroup famished!!

What can I feed him that will satisfy him until supper which is approx. 3 hrs. later and he should be really hungry for supper??
I work & get home the same time as him so it cant be anything that needs to be made that day.

What do you do?

How about just a fruit? A yogurt? Some breadsticks or pretzels? Three hours is a long time for a small kid, so I would think she'll still be hungry for dinner, unless you give her a huge meal.

Well I've tried yogurt, but then he doesnt eat supper. And if I give him cookies... He cant have enough. It doesnt satisfy him.

I used to have that problem. Now I either have some dinner ready for her when she comes home, or I give her a kid energy bar. I bought some organic whole grain energy bars and she likes them.

We do rice cakes w/cheese or pb, crackers with cheese or pb, or a bowl of cereal. Sometimes a granola bar, but that doesn't fill up dd. My kids are older (7 & 10), but they can't sit to do their homework if they don't have snack, and we don't usually eat dinner before 5:30.

I give my dd what she wants. From fruit to candies.
