Looking for nice boots for everyday wear. Not really needed for the weather.

I find that all the boots are too big on the calf area. Looked thru the usual suspects at zappos and endless but haven't had to much luck.

Anyone have any links/ideas for me?
Where did you find your favorite boot?

Sorry anon - guess I'm embarrassed, but hope you will still help me find the perfect pair of boots.
TIA

But they do make wide boots, maybe hard to find but at least they make them. They dont make narrow ones.

I have been told I would have to find a shoemaker who is willing to take it in... or there are cowboy boot makers that make boots to fit.

If you find something please let me know.

Boots can actually be taken in at the seams by a good shoe repairman - for less than $50 I believe. So find a nice pair at a good price and spend the extra bit to make them perfect.

or if you are small size, you can try to find nice girls boots - those usually run much narrower.

I have gone to shoemakers in a few states who take in boots. As long as there is a seem in the back they can take them in.
I also know people that get their boots stretched. Sacco in Manhattan's boots run very thin on the calf, but they have a stretching machine in the back that stretches out the leather to make the boots wider.

Piperlime tells you the circumference of the boots. I think that Nordstrom does too. That might help you with shopping.

Try mid-calf boots. They're very flattering for thinner legs.

This year boots are soooo large. I find even on average legs it's hard to find fitting ones!
