It was from the Binah of January 7, 2008, and I made it and it was very good. I just remember it needed some modification and I cant remember what.

Is anyone familiar with this recipe?

Thanks, but I have the recipe and I remember having made it, but I didnt add a note about what I thought the cake would need or not need. I think there was way to much filling for the cake, but I'm not sure (I might have wanted to make only half the filling). Have you made this cake?

I make the cake fairly frequently.
I like the quantity of filling, so that wouldn't be it for me.
You may have made a note to only use oil OR marg, or one type of milk sub over another.
Could be you had issues with the glaze. It doesn't always come out exactly the same for some reason.

Thanks! I made it with no adjustments and it was great. I must've confused it with another recipe.

maybe this is what you mean: the recipe says to put 1/3 of the batter then half the filling, 1/3 batter, 1/2 the filling, and rest of batter. there isn't really enough batter to make three layers, and also the picture just shows two layers with all of the filling in the middle of the cake. I guess you could just do half the batter, all the filling, and then the other half of the batter.

Sounds like a great recipe!
Do you use light or dark brown sugar in the filling?
Any recommendations for a particular milk sub? I generally use soy milk.
TIA

Sounds similar to another cake I usually make. For the filling I use espresso coffee powder sprinkled over the batter. I dont think it would be as good with regular instant coffee granules.
But I havnt made this exact recipe so YMMV.

Do the chocolate chips melt?
Thinking of trying this with Cappuccino chips but I know those for sure don't melt.
