I saw a watermelon, that was cute.
I also saw, from far away, a bird costume, with a gorgeous colorful beak and tail!

Haven't been around on Purim day, we had a School Purim Party, which left barely enough time to give out Shaloch Manos and then attending the Seudah.
I saw some really cool costumes at: http://www.crownheights.info/?itemid=1769

I don't like overly expensive costumes; the ones you make yourself are the best. Of coruse, staying up until 3 AM is also bad.....
Santa is an odd choice.......
DD's school requsted "no pants" on the h.s. girls, and no dressing up as Punks this year. I told her to be Goth, but she said Goth was Punk..I have news for it, it's not, but I didn't explain...
Anyway, she was a hippie.

Where I ate the sueda there were some kids dressed as State Police. In middle of the seuda the real State Police arrived, since some drunk had picked up the phone and dialed 911. He was very nice about it b"h. "oh, I see you borrowed my costume "
