I heard that my "buying used bras thread " got out of hand and was removed. I still need bras (not buying used ones); anyway, I found a pretty $4 sports bra (or 3/$10) which I bought.
I'm still going bra shopping on Sunday to L&T and Macy's because I can't believe that bras that are sold 3 for $10 will last as long as a $50 Calvin Klein.
Has anyone here had luck with a discount store bra ?

Personally, no I haven't. I only buy the overpriced kinds.
But if your original thread was removed by a moderator, maybe it shouldn't be brought up again?

I'm not discussing the idea of buying used bras. I'm discussing buying discount store bras v. designer bras. I do not see why that would not be OK.

You can buy designer bras at discount prices...try daffy's, century 21, filene's basement....I buy Calvin Klein bras for $15...

I don't see why not ... but I don't make the rules ...
anyways it's good to look for what you like on sale - or at clearance centers ... I've purchased the same bra brands for $30, $15, and $5 ... depending on sales and location and luck ...

But even a $15 bra isn't a 3/$10 bra. The designer bra is 5x the price !

I think it depends what you like. Sports bras are different than your typical department store bra, unless you are talking about a more expensive sports bra. If you are into comfort, check out a company called bluecanoe.com

it depends if you need a good bra-if you're big on top, you may want to spend the extra $$ on a minimizer to look better, but if youre very small, you can get away with a cheaper one

If you are really small you can get away with anything including cheap bras.

ditto - whereas, if you're big you really can't get away with not spending a lot...otherwise they're all over the place.

if you're small you can get away without a bra ... if you're big - you can still look for a sale ... and then everybooby is happy ...

Bali No-poke underwire. They run about $25-$30. I actually thought that wasn't so expensive. I'm a 36D and after nursing my 2nd child, I started sleeping in bras all the time, even when not nursing or pregnant.

HAHAHAHA
I've bought Wacoal before and honestly, I'm back to Bali or whatever is on sale that fits and isn't underwire because I hate those. I'm pretty big on top (and all over ) so I get minimizers. I just can't justify spending $50 on a bra unless it makes me look so much better. I found that I look pretty similar in an on-sale minimizer bought anywhere.

So where is the best place to buy bras discounted/on sale.
Also, in a related point, if you are not small on top can a bra do a good job and be comfortable?

personally, I'm in shock over how bras have gone up in price while my back was turned - you can't find them anymore w/o underwire or padding - what's going on with the world?!
