I shop in Bloomingdales, Saks and Neiman Marcus. If you are petite then try to get Theory or Diane Von Furstenberg, their line runs very small and they have georgeous stuff. I shop by companies so for me I would rather go to a department store that sells the company I like.

OP, maybe you can be a bit more specific about what "style" of clothing you like? Do you normally shop in BP, Flatbush, malls...? I personally LOVE H&M, but it might be clothes you would never wear...

Macys (in the City) usually has great skirts. I think tznius tops are usually hard to find - you can primarily find them in Brooklyn

Saks and Bloomingdales in the city, but IDK how much that helps you OP.
I occasionally find something at Estis and Elegance (both on coney) but they are overpriced and quite frankly, I would rather deal with a "real" department store where everything is handled more professionally (returns/exchanges, alterations, etc) than a ma and pa type store. For that reason, I dont do much shopping in brooklyn, and save it for when I get to the city.

mall=jersey gardens or if you are in the mood for a drive, woodburry commons is nice, outdoors and has an amazing variety of stores (where else can you find chanel and old navy 2 minutes from each other)
city = departmet stores such as bloomingdales. I hate macys of manhattan and find they treat you really like low class there and their selection sucks.

OP, I'd say if you don't want to spend tons of money, the best places to shop would be Ann Taylor, New York & Co., H&M, and Zara.

I'm petite too and used to have such a hard time finding cloths untill I stopped shopping in bp! Act., brenda's and exquisite are the 2 stores I'd shop in bp
Otherwise I do only manhattan stores or malls- H&M, Old Navy, zara, ann taylor, banana republic or as a previous poster said- theroy has very pretty things for shabbos and carry petite sizes.
I also found that talking fashion & fashion island in flatbush (on coney) carry some nice clothes in small sizes

If you shop in malls:
Which malls do you go to & which stores do I look out for?

I like Jersey gardens or Woodbury common premium outlets, Staten Island Mall... look for ann taylor, theory, tahari, banana republic, old navy, H&M, express.... really most stores carry small sizes and that's what you need.
34th street in Manhattan has most of these stores all on one block: H&M, Ann Taylor, zara, banana, express, old navy, gap.... and macys

youre not gonna like this, but...
try consignment shops!
they have mostly small/petite sizes, from pricey sources... when rich women put on a few extra pounds, , they consign their too-small clothes!
