I just got a gift certificate for a free facial or massage. now, forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is a facial? which do you recommend I do?

Depending on what type of facial you get, your face gets exfoliated, your pores get cleaned out, your face (and neck) massaged, you'll probably have a mask or a peel done, cream applied...
If your skin is great, don't get a facial, get a massage. If you have clogged pores, or dry skin...or are in need of a good treatment, get a facial. Also, it all depends on what salon your certificate entitles you to get a massage or facial in. If it's at a very good, professional salon, you could go for the facial, if you're not sure how great their services are, go for a massage, because a bad facial is bad for your skin.

oooooo I'd love a massage, just can't justify it!
I say, you can clean your own face anytime and put on fancy creams, but can you give yourself a massage?
then again, if you have clogged up pores, facial it should be.
enjoy it whichever one you pick
