Probably more, but the others didn't read this thread.

No one has offered me a dime yet. Should I be insulted?

Maybe it's your avatar. No offense, but if that's how you look, I think you need more than just heels.

look high to me. but maybe its just the platform that makes them look so much higher than some of my own shoes?

I have a very similar shoe, but without the inside platform. The platform actually makes it more comfortable since you don't feel the height of the heel as much and can walk more steadily.

I was having a no-good, rotten day until you brightened it with that comment. Thanks.

imho Heels alone are not the problem, nor is luscious red lips ,but joined together with a certain dress and body language, it could well be. The shoes in itself are feminne and if you have no problem with polished nails or make-up then what problem would one have with gorgous shoes. If I wore that high though I would be bigger then 6ftr yikes Tongue Out

I have never worn high heels, but I don't wear flats either. Just sandals or shoes with a slight heel. But recently I've found that even they are giving me pains in the knees. Oh well. ...pushing forty. I guess that means I'm getting too old to look too glamourous!

that's her answer to OP question. she hasn't answered my post begging her to tell me she's kidding. It's not self-evident. many right-wing frum people consider certain kinds of shoes, like high heels and shoes that make noise, to imply moral laxity.

certainly Taliban thinks this way:

high heels--slut
audible shoes--slut
white shoes--slut
open-toe shoes--slut

wait no not just the taliban
dont people thnk that not wearing audible/ high shoes....will help bring the geula here too? or was it um....pidyon shevuyim perhaps???

disclaimer: I do think that certain shoes CAN be untzniyusdik. Especially high heeled ones. But I also think certain skirts can be untzniyusdik, even with no high slits and even if the skirt is "duty length" certian shaitels can be untziniyusdik, as can certain dresses, etc. its not just about what is being "covered" but how. to outlaw high heels because they CAN be attractive is a bit much. to say use discretion and dont dress like a slut, makes sense.

See I'm one of the people that chose that "she looks like a slut", but only because that was the best option and not because I actually think that exactly. I think its more untznius than "Not a big deal, but not so tznius either", but I dont think someone ACTUALLY looks like a slut. Kind of half way in between.
I think really high heels draw attention to oneself, and the same way that any clothes that draws attention to the self, such as magenta/bright clothes, very long dangly earings, long sheitels, or fishnet stockings, its untznius.
But I won't go as far as to say that all heels above a certain inch are untznius. Because it is all relative to the height of the person wearing it. For example, I am 5'9.5 so a one inch heel doesnt even LOOK like a heel at all on me, my 2.5 inch heels look quite decent. I have one pair of 3 inch heels and two 2 inch heels and they arent so high in proportion to my height, so are less of a problem tzniusly. However, I think the same 3 inch heels can look quite untznius on someone 4'9 or whatever, because proportionally to her body, they are much higher.
I do think block heels are more tznius than stilettos.
I rarely ever wear my heels (just one pair I wear to weddings, and thats because they are separate so I won't have men oggling at me) because I feel even my two or three inch heels call attention to me, so don't feel so comfortable wearing them.

Additionally, when I see someone really tall wearing high heels, my first reaction is "What? You want to be even taller than you already are???"
Unfortunately, my shoe size is really hard to find, heel or not, so I take what I can find when I find it, and don't make too much of a fuss if it has a heel.

Seraph, I'm asking sincerely and not trying to bash, so don't be insulted, but-

You voted that the "slut" option, but wear heels yourself?

You are 5'9.5" and wear 3" heels, which brings you up over 6 feet, yet you say:

...my back hurts from looking at some of those heels! I don't think a very tall heel is quite tzniusdik. Moderate heels are okay, I personally can't manage in anything more than 2 inches, and am not comfortable in those either.

Totally honest here- I wear them because I can't find shoes my size that dont have heels. I can't find shoes my size in general, and when I do they have heels. So I take the smallest heels I can find and get so peeved that I cant find any without. And even those make me uncomfortable enough that I rarely wear them (and when I do, its generally at separate weddings where tznius isnt as much of an issue).

I never measured my heels, I dont know how tall they are. I can do that. But I suspect 2.5 inches max. But they're also block heels which I find are more tznius IMO than stilettos, and when I'm that tall and with size 12 feet, 2.5 inches in proportion to the rest of me doesnt look so big, but that same size heel in proportion to a little person CAN look big and exagerated.
I prefer no to one inch heels, but I can NEVER find them. Payless was the only store where I found shoes my size consistently, and I almost never found anything remotely close to shabbos shoes that had less than a 2 inch heel. (Ok, one time I did, and I bought them, but they are SOOO PAINFUL.) Halevai is all I can say.

The highest I wear is up to 3 inches. And that's really high. I don't know how people do higher than that, but I see many do.
I have one pair of shoes which are approximately 2.5 inches or 2.75 inches and much more comfortable than all the flats and low heels in my closet. And they also cost me only $15 Smile

I think that heels are perfectly fine. In fact, I own heels that range from 3 inches to 5 inches. No, I don't fall over in them. I think they really dress up an outfit and make me look good (and slimmer - whoever it was that said that - I totally agree!).

I think that taking something like heels and making it into a big tznuis issue is wrong. It's hard enough (for me anyway, and for most people I know) to follow tznius rules as it is and to find clothes that are acceptable and still feel like we look good. Why do we have to be constantly finding new things to "ban" and make taboo? I know, I know, our job is to grow... but I think there are MANY other areas in which we need to make MANY improvements and focusing on a stupid thing like heels is just distracting from the real issues. Why is it that we have to keep "banning" certain styles of clothing, accessories, and shoes? It's because the men keep looking at the women. Shouldn't we be focusing on way to help the men look at their own wives instead? I can honestly say that Baruch Hashem my husband does not look at other women. Why? Because I try my best to look attractive for him every day. He doesn't NEED to be looking at other women's shoes, because it's just irrelevent.

Now I just want to end by saying that the only justification I can think of for calling high heels slutty is if they are talking about these:
