Where I live we have very steep hills, like in San Francisco. When I see very high heels (especially the ones with pointy toes), I can't help but think "Either she drove to shul and parked around the corner, or she's carrying the other pair of shoes, and there's no eruv." It's strange to see the rows of shoes in the shul coat room, like it's an extension of your own personal closet, that's just weird!

or they leave a pair of shoes in shul.

Now I'm picturing you buck naked, wearing nothing but a nice pair of earrings and a pretty smile. Maybe it's the way you phrased it.

Wow. There's 14 women out there who think I'm turning tricks when I wear pumps to work.

That's why they recommend that you vary your heel height. Also remember that flat (eg, ballet shoes) aren't particularly good for your feet either. Small heels -- think mens' shoes -- are probably best.

but only flats or stilettos seem to be in fashion now. fortunately, some shops persist in selling unfashionable shoes.

I look at how their back is curved and their calf muscles engaged at all times and the veins in their feet are standing out and think: Chiropractor fodder. At what price fashion

I'm a jewelry designer, so I always like to wear one of my newest creations - it's good advertising! I had a friend tell me that necklaces were not tznius, because her husband kept staring at my chest. She seriously thought that if I took off my necklace, that her husband would magically lose interest in me. Rolling Eyes

Of course not. They all assume you're out of their league and they couldn't possibly afford you.

that's her answer to OP question. she hasn't answered my post begging her to tell me she's kidding. It's not self-evident. many right-wing frum people consider certain kinds of shoes, like high heels and shoes that make noise, to imply moral laxity.

certainly Taliban thinks this way:

high heels--slut
audible shoes--slut
white shoes--slut
open-toe shoes--slut

Doesn't "slut" mean "to your health" in Gaelic?
Oh, that's Slainte.
Never mind.
