Me too.
I thought this is what the poll would be about.
Anyhow, I think it all depends on the skirt you wear with your heals.
I actually own two pairs of heals (I'm very short) one are not that high and the stompy comfy type.
The other are higher and the heal is a bit thinner (but not stileto - no where near stileto) but I hardly ever wear them because they're pretty uncomfertable.

When I see someone wearing high heels, they're usually wobbling, and I think that they think they look great, but they look silly. Very few people can pull off very high heels while walking completely smoothly, so it doesn't work for most of them.

That may be because your hamstrings have shrunk from excessive wearing of high heels, so your foot can't comfortably bend back to the neutral position for any length of time. People who wear very high heels all the time get to the point that they're not able to stand flat. You should start doing stretching exercises to restore your flexibility and range of motion.

I find that the women who always wore flats and confy shoes start wearing SAS shoes faster than the women that are used to high heels. I think the muscles gets stronger when wearing heels.

lol ur cute
at the barneys sale a couple yrs back I remember I snagged a pair of black leather Manolos for 60 dollars or something like that. Not so comfy but they are pretty and classic, I wear them to all businessy type things.
If the woman is in shul, I usually think: I want them theyre pretty
If the woman is in school I usually think: how on earth does she spend all day on her feet with those shoes??

totally true.
I ALWAYS ALWAYS get comments from people in shul or at dinners, weddings, etc about the height of my heels (3 inches I dont think is insane-I think that is normal for real "high" heels) and that is the answer I give them, it is 100% true
and I dont wear heels full time or anywhere near it. I wear them often enough though that my feet dont hurt when I take them off because of the aching/pressure....
not so great for your back obviously.

Please check this out, you may have damaged your feet. It happened to me. I now have to wear very comfy shoes or sneakers.

High is in the eye of the beholder. I'm wearing two inch wedges today, and for me, that's practically flat. I have higher heels that I could walk miles in; I have flats that kill my feet.
What shoes look best depend upon the outfit. I hate clunky, closed up, rubber soled shoes with anything other than the most causal skirts and dresses (and don't even particularly like them with casual things). I think that even sleek flats only look good with very long or very short skirts; anything in between requires a heel to look good.
Of course, I sometimes go for comfort not looks -- eg, I have a Shabbat invite about a mile away this week, so I'll be wearing comfy shoes, looks be d-amned.

Just to add ... 3 inches is not a particularly high heel. I'd consider it mid-heel, and a very professional look. Five inches is different.

thats what I think too! but I have gotten comments about how "HIGH" my heels are. how high are these for example: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.lux.....1.png
I wear that "height" often and am told how high my shoes are. maybe they are higher than 3 inches and I never noticed?
this is kindof what my "business attire" style (not as high of a heel) pumps look like http://www.zappos.com/images/7.....d.jpg

Very true....I've found some great heels at Target for under $10
ss321, I haven't been lucky w/ shoes @ Barney's Warehouse sale.
Since becoming a mother, I seldom wear heels. Usually just my ballerina flats (or Uggs)

From wiki:
Reasons for not wearing high-heels include:
* they can cause foot pain
* they can create foot deformities, including hammertoes and bunions
* they can cause an unsteady gait
* they can shorten the wearer's stride
* they can render the wearer unable to run
* altered forces at the knee caused by walking in high-heels may predispose to degenerative changes in the knee joint
* See "Foot and Tendon Problems" below for many of the medical reasons.
* Women who wear high heels frequently have a higher incidence of degenerative joint disease of the knees. This is because they cause a decrease in the normal rotation of the foot which puts more rotation stress on the knee
* Podiatrists often comment that 75 percent of their business is caused by females wearing tall high heeled shoes.
Reasons for wearing high-heels, which are almost exclusively aesthetic, include:
* they change the angle of the foot with respect to the lower leg, which accentuates the appearance of calves
* they change the wearer's posture, requiring a more upright carriage and altering the gait in what is considered a seductive fashion
* they make the wearer appear taller
* they make the legs appear longer
* they make the foot appear smaller
* they make the arches of the feet appear higher and better defined
* they make the lower leg muscles more defined

Gorgeous shoes. I would consider the first to be quite high, but clearly they're not everyday shoes. The second are getting towards high, but still a professional look (IMHO).
