I guess it's time to do the laundry - because all I had left were tightie whities that were actually loosey ...

but it got me thinking ... about underwear and if like myself people have changed their likes and dislikes over the years or change for different moods/needs throughout the month ...

as a young teen I was into bikini
after having surgery I went to granny panties
but I stick to hipsters now

I have a few nice bra & panty sets - when I feel like being a lady (almost never) ... but otherwise comfort is most important ...

This is so funny b/c I was just in the market for some new ones.

And instead of running to VS, I went to Target and picked out hipsters. I thought ironically that I am no longer a hipster. I'm not buying "floss" (aka thongs), I'm not bikini after c-section...

When did I become the "clean, comfortable, and something that doesn't show a line under my skirt?"

Is it just me, or am I the only one who thought this thread was going to be about men's briefs?

Anyway I wear different kinds during the month. Usually thongs, but I find them uncomfortable to wear when I exercise so I wear other types.

This thread is weird... Confused

I go through phases. I liked thongs for a long time. then I went antithong and started a boy shorts kick. I still like the boy shorts, but I have problems finding them in my size for a reasonable price. lately I've been favoring my maternity underwear even though I'm not pregnant. they're nice and big and comfy. how's that for granny panties?!

LOL! I love this thread... the first thought in my mind was men's underwear.

When I was pg, I wore OK maternity panties because they went under the belly. I carried high and couldn't stand maternity briefs that went over the belly.

Now I wear either hipsters or thongs depending on the time of the month. I had a c-section so I still retain that dislike of panties that are too high on my stomach.

No, I did too. I was ready to launch into an announcement that boxers are apparently the "in" thing among HS-age bocherim, at least in ds crowd, which makes me rofl. To my generation, boxers are so "your father's Oldsmobile".

louche - today they wear boxer briefs - the best of both worlds ... or avoiding the worst of both - depending on your outlook ...

see what happens to me when I no longer need white undies - they become tightie whities ... oh well ... Confused

I've never worn any material but cotton or cotton/lycra on a regular basis (I did have the occasonal pair of nylon or silk, but I always wore cotton daily.) I had some yeast infections as a young woman, and I don't want to repeat that!

When I was a little girl I only wore briefs (as that's all that existed for little girls back then.)

As a teenager, I discovered hipsters- briefs never fit particularly well after puberty, as I'm a bigger size in the waist than at the hips. With lower cut panties, I buy to fit the hips and they stay put.

When pregnant with my first, I wore some bikinis that fit under my belly, and some maternity briefs that fit over it (though those always gave me wedgies.) After giving birth, I continued to wear both kinds of maternity underwear until they wore out- which wasn't until after my 2nd DD was born!

For a while I was all bout the cotton/lycra briefs that held in my saggy post-baby belly. I went through a thong phase. When I was heavier, I wore bike shorts to keep my thighs from rubbing together as I walked, and then wore bikinis underneath.

Last summer, as I was losing weight, I stocked up on bikinis because briefs just didn't fit right- if they fit my waist, they rode up, and if they fit my hips, they were too tight in the waist. Bikinis fit under my belly, just as they did when I was pregnant. But for some reason, this winter I felt I needed more support in my belly and the bikinis just stopped feeling good.

So, now I wear briefs most of the time (I'd prefer cotton/lycra, but those weren't in the budget so I have a bunch of all cotton ones), but I still wear my old bikinis when I have my period, so I don't stain my nice new ones.

Actually, I found thongs to be MUCH more comfortable than "full cut" panties that rode up and gave me wedgies! Thongs stay put, and if they're the right size (ie: not too tight) they're quite comfortable. You don't feel the "butt floss" unless the thong is too tight.
