Anyone here (professionally) wax their arm hairs? I'm not extremely hairy, but have a decent amount of (brown) hair on my arms. With the summer coming up (and 3/4-length sleeves coming up), I got an urge to get my hair removed. I just want to know what happens if I stop waxing it. Will my hair grow back really thick? On average, how often do you need to get it waxed? Does it look funny when the hairs start growing back?

not extremely hairy either, actually have very little, but I also hate it in the summer (totally grosses me out). My SIL who is hairy was telling me about it once - never even knew there was such an option!
So heres my experiences with it so far
doesnt hurt that much (much less than leg wax, IMO). Maybe if you are very hairy it hurts more?
takes about 10 or 15 minutes
If you want it to stay relly hairless, then I guess you gotta go back every 6 weeks or so? depends how fast ur hair grows
sometimes I do it and then dont for a couple of months, and no absolutley not the hair doesnt grow back thicker
I was also nervous that the hair would look thinner when it grows back - like stubble. but for some reason it doesnt, maybe bcz the hair on my arms is thinner than the hair on my legs?
make sure to like exfoliate ur arms (buy any of those exfoliating body creams from a drugstore) so you dont get ingrowns theyre itchy!

I started waxing my arms about a year ago. I also don't have really dark thick hair, just a lot of brown.
A) it is painful as HELL!
B) it is insanely itchy when growing back
C) the first week or so it grows back its kinda spiky, then regular and definitely not thicker. I think mine is actually thinning each time I do it.
D) it feels UNREAL to have totally hair-free, smooth arms!

its SOOOOO smooth after. wow. your sleeves will feel funny
I thought it hurt the least of all spots to wax
it seemed to grow in spiky for the first week and then thinner.
now I'm doing laser and shave and that's working out really well. the hair is WAY thinner and shaving's not really as bad as I thought it would be.

I have light hair on my arms too. I'm practically obsessed with smooth skin lol, so I always wax them. I do it once in about every 2 months, give or take, depending on the season. It definitely does not grow back thicker, if anything, maybe less and less each time. It barely hurts, and it feels so smooth afterwards. I love the feeling!

Ooohhh, yay! I'm glad I got positive feedback. I'm IY"H going to get this done. I used to have my full leg/bikini/underarm hair waxed, but the pain was unreal and I stopped. Just couldn't bare it. Shaving works just fine. However, arm hair is different and can be pulled off in a couple of rips, so I think I'll be fine with it.
Thanks, y'all.

I also get my arms waxed. I go about every 4 weeks.
I find that in the winter it hurts much more, because my skin is very sensitive then.
The minute hair starts growing back I start plucking it with tweezers, because it drives me nuts.
But only for the first few days, and then I just give up....
by the way, how much do you all pay to get your arms waxed? and do you do it till your elbows or your sholders?

I mentioned to my husband that some women apparently wax their arms and he could NOT believe that people actually spend their time and money plus go through pain for that. He said he appreciates that I would never do such a thing. To each their own, and certainly if someone is very self-conscious about heavy or dark arm hair, OK - but just ordinary arm hair - my goodness, that's just part of our normal, healthy female bodies.

I pay 11 dollars, just till my elbows, because: 1. I barely have any hair above my elbows 2. I always have sleeves below my elbows so even if there was hair, it wouldnt bother me as much because "out of sight out of mind"
Every time I go into a drugstore, I think I should just buy the wax and do it myself but IDK Im scared of inducing such pain myself (not on my arms more my legs, the arms dont hurt), and its messy and stuff...

I never cared but DH pointed out to ma that he didn't like it. I didn't have thick hair, just a lot. I tried waxing but it grew back too fast & you need to have a decent length before waxing again (same reason why I dont wax my legs) so I shave my arms from wrist to elbow every Friday or every other Friday. It takes 1 minute in the shower & theres very little by the next time but enough to shave again.

You guys should try Nair Hair Removal Lotion with Baby Oil. Works like a charm. I slather it on my arm and legs for 3 minutes, take a washcloth and wash off. Tada! Smooth hairfree skin, with no pain and oh so cheap!

So I had my first arm wax done a couple of weeks ago and it was really great. The hair didn't start growing back for a couple of weeks. However, I just had it redone a couple of days ago (for the 2nd time) and my hair's already growing back. Ugh. Is this how it's going to be? Or can it be the waxer didn't do a good job? (Since I had it done at a different place than the original one.)

When you wax for the first time it always takes longer for it to totally grow back, and then the next time you wax, there are hairs still growing back from the first time, so it seems that it grew back sooner...Basically, what I'm saying is that with waxing, the hair does not grow back all at the same time. It can take some hair longer and some shorter time to grow back...Don't give up, keep waxing and eventually it will seem to thin out. Once you go bare, you'll never want to have hair.

I agree with almost everything said. For me it really doesnt hurt, I wax in much more painful spots (I pretty much do almost a full body wax).
Also you dont have to continue doing it but what I find is that once you start you cant stop. you'll feel "dirty" or "hairy" if you stop.

I disagree...I wax my arms and
A) It's not that painful.
B) It never itched me
C) Mine grows back soft, not spiky.
D) Yeah! It does feel great.

I love waxing my arms. Not painful at all!
Thinning out more and more with time. I really do not need to go very often!
